RP66 Company Codes
RP66 is a list of numeric company codes assigned to individual organizations. These codes are used as a stable identifier to distinguish company‑specific content where uniqueness across organizations is required.
Within the PWLS Curve Catalog, RP66 company codes are used to differentiate curve mnemonics defined by different companies. This ensures that identical mnemonic names originating from different organizations can be uniquely identified, compared, and aggregated. RP66 is used in the Curve Catalog for this purpose only and is not part of the PWLS standard itself.
RP66 was originally developed as an API Recommended Practice and was transferred in 1991 to Energistics’ predecessor organization, POSC, which has maintained the list since that time. The name “RP66” has been retained for historical continuity and industry recognition.

Requesting Changes to RP66
To have a company name edited or added to RP66, a representative of the company can send the request to energisticsinfo@opengroup.org.
Attempts are made to assign a number based on alphabetical order, but that approach cannot be maintained perfectly.

- For code 58, the company name was changed from “Canrig” to “RigCLOUD”.
